FAQs

What is the Animal Caretakers Impact Fund?

We're a grantmaking organization that supports the people who care for animals—veterinarians, shelter staff, and other animal care professionals. We fund nonprofits working on caretaker wellbeing, keeping pets with their families, and public education.

Why focus on people instead of animals?

When caretakers struggle, animals suffer too. Veterinary professionals face significantly higher suicide rates than the general population, and up to 30% are considering leaving the field. Supporting the humans means better outcomes for animals.

What kinds of programs do you fund?

Mental health resources for veterinary and shelter staff, programs that help pet owners keep their animals, research on burnout and compassion fatigue, and public education initiatives.

Who can apply for a grant?

Nonprofits whose missions align with ours. We don't fund veterinary clinics directly, individual pet owners, or direct animal care services.
